About Mobberley Pre-School

  • We are an Ofsted registered pre-school based in the multi use space of Mobberley Victory Hall in the heart of the community, helping to educate and develop children from Mobberley and the surrounding areas aged 2- 5 years old. Our pre-school is a registered charity that has served the community for over 30 years and is led by a volunteer management committee along with the team of fully qualified (NVQ level 3) staff.

The pre-school has been a big part of the local community since it began. We take part in (and sometimes win!) the annual Mobberley Rose Queen and regularly have visitors from different people with roles in the community such as fire fighters, vicars, sports coaches, animal handlers etc. We also regularly visit Mobberley Primary school to meet older children and watch their nativities and sports days. Many local businesses also support us as a charity by donating prizes or food and drink for fundraising events.

Indoor space:

Our usable space within the hall is vast, which enables staff to provide a vast array of activities and corners, which change daily or weekly and are designed to enable their physical, communicative and social skills. There is enough space for the little ones to have quality free play and let off steam. The large space also means that activities can be separated to suit the needs of different ages and interests at all times. There is also a side room which is used for snack and lunch times or separate party days such as Christmas and Halloween.

Outdoor spaces:

We have two secure outdoor spaces where children can develop an understanding of different types of play. One permanent space is fully equipped with outdoor activities such as slides and water play, and tuff trays are regularly changed out here to fit the seasons, such as painting leaves in Autumn, to looking at different flowers in Spring, or bird watching in Winter. The other space is put up on the warmer days and is a larger space to enable children to use the bikes and scooters etc… provided. We are also in the planning of a brand new NATURE GARDEN to be built for September 2020 (hopefully!) located on land next to the hall.

The inside and outside environments are carefully planned, which allow children to make choices, develop independence and re-visit experiences to reinforce their learning.

Key workers:

Each child is paired with a key worker who evaluate learning and they plan on a daily basis from their observations and speaking to parents, as well as planning educational visits from members of the community, so that they can follow and support the individual interests of children.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Mobberley Pre-School is regularly inspected by Ofsted ( rated ‘Good’ 2016 ).
